Soho power cut: Parts of central London plunged into darkness after electricity outage

More than 1,300 properties were affected in Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square after outage struck just before 8pm.

A UK Power Networks spokesman said there were three faults in the area, and added that power had been restored by 10pm.

Pictures on social media showed the usually vibrant streets around Chinatown illuminated only by car lights after the outage.
